Producer: Clos de l’Oratoire
Owned by Stéphan Von Neipperg, who also owns Mondotte and Canon de la Gaffelière, the vineyard at Clos de l’Oratoire is planted in a clay-limestone soil, which gives the wine freshness, but also a great deal of intensity and power. The wine has a dark colour and a ripe, fruity, slightly woody bouquet. Medium-bodied, it is powerful, fresh and seductive. Due to its formidable concentration and impressive tannic structure, this wine shows best with a bit of age – as in the ’99. This large-format bottle is perfect for family events or gatherings, or celebrations of any type.
Pairing suggestion: a whole roast lamb or cow!
