Producer: Chateau Musar
This rich and spicy red, a blend of Carignan, Cabernet sauvignon, and Cinsault, comes from one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world: the Bekaa Valley. Originially cultivated by the Phoenecians, vines in the region have a long and storied history of over 6,000 years. The Hochar family, who own Château Musar, are themselves French in origin, having arrived in Lebanon with the crusades. The 1998 vintage is dense and gamey, with complimentary aromas of vanilla and menthol.
Pairing suggestion: red meats and hard, salty cheeses
