Producer : Grand Corbin-Despagne
The stunning 2005 vintage is showing splendidly in this dark-fruited and cedary Saint-Émilion. A family-owned and operated estate since the eraly 19th-century, Grand Corbin-Despagne is somewhat of a rarity in the often formal, business-backed Bordelais. The meticulous care in the vineyards and excellent work in the cellar shine through, and the château was reclassified as a Grand Cru Classé in 2006. One of the best vintages from these producers in the last 40 years, 2005 is not to be missed!
Pairing suggestion: hard cheeses like 36-month comté or a farmhouse cheddar
