Agricola Punica is a joint venture between Tenuta San Guido (of Sassicaia fame) and the highly respected Cantina di Santadi winery. Their aim is to celebrate ‘Carignano,’ the local Sardinian clone of Carignan, by using it in Bordeaux Blends. This is a ‘Super Sardinian,’ after the ‘Super Tuscan’ fashion, and was created under the supervision of legendary winemaker Giacomo Tachis: the Godfather of Super Tuscans. This wine has complex scents of mature red fruits such as black cherries, along with spices, liquorice and a hint of myrtle.
