Producer : Domaine de La Begude
Domaine de la Begude is a picturesque estate in Provence’s acclaimed Bandol region with original plantings dating back to the 18th Century. Their vineyards are certified organic, with biodynamic practice, and sit 400m above sea level at the highest point of Bandol, giving natural exposure to the Mistral wind. Respect of the environment is the core value of Domaine de la Begude, and they take a low intervention approach from vine to bottle.
The wines are fresh and vibrant, with a backbone of acidity and a plush, yet reserved, fruit character. Ripeness of fruit in the blend is encouraged to a point, but these wines are designed with balance and age-ability. La Brulade is their top plot with the oldest vines, the best soil and exposure. This is a very high end single vineyard wine. A blend of 95% Mouvedre and 5% Grenache; dark fruit aromas with spice and cedar on the palate. Firm tannins with fresh acidity and a lengthy finish.
